JetBlue to begin daily service between Albany and 2 Florida destinations in December
JetBlue Airways plans to begin daily service between Albany International Airport and two Florida destinations late this year.
U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer and the New York-based airline made the announcement Monday.
Flights will begin Dec. 10 with non-stop service to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
Schumer says he has been pushing JetBlue to provide service to Albany for years and that he hopes the low-cost carrier will add additional flights and destinations.
JetBlue already services Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Newburgh, Westchester and both New York City airports.
To mark the new flights, JetBlue offered limited one-way promotional fares on Monday only of $16.86 — a figure picked to honor Albany's incorporation in 1686.
