Italy Bans Uber And Other Unlicensed Ride-sharing Services

An Italian court ruled Tuesday that Uber's unlicensed ride-sharing service and other related services cannot operate in the country, according to a Reuters report. The ruling refers to Uber's Uber POP service, which uses unlicensed drivers and has been banned in several European countries. The court decision was made based on a petition from taxi associations, Reuters said. Uber has 15 weeks to comply with the ruling or it will face a fine of €20,000 every day that it doesn't comply.
