IPC The Hospitalist Company said it changed its name to IPC Healthcare

IPC The Hospitalist Company Inc. said Monday that it has changed its name to IPC Healthcare Inc.

The company, based in North Hollywood, California, provides doctors to hospitals and other health care facilities, such as rehab centers.

IPC said it is changing its name to better reflect changes in its business, as it increasingly provides doctors to health care facilities that aren't hospitals. IPC provides doctors at 400 hospitals and 1,200 other health care facilities around the country.

The company's ticker symbol, "IPCM," will not change.
