House Passes Medicare 'doc Fix' Deal

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed a bill to revamp Medicare's payment formula for doctors. The bill would end the temporary patches known as the "doc fix" that lawmakers approve to prevent payment cuts to doctors. Part of the $214 billion measure is paid for by raising Medicare premiums on wealthy seniors. Passed on a vote of 392 to 37, the bill now goes to the Senate.
