Home Depot To Hire More Than 80,000 Staffers For Spring, Same As Last Year

The Home Depot said it will hire more than 80,000 workers for its nearly 2,000 stores in preparation for spring, its busiest time of year. That figure is unchanged from the seasonal hires in 2015. The home improvement company is looking for sales associates, cashiers, staffers to help with displays and more, it said in a Wednesday release. Seasonal employees could be made permanent, with more than half of last year's seasonal hires moving into permanent positions. Home Depot shares are inactive in premarket trading but up 16.8% for the past 12 months. The S&P 500 is down 7.2% for the same period.
