Home Depot To Hire 80,000 In U.S. To Prep For Spring Selling Season

The Home Depot Inc. said Tuesday it is recruiting staff to fill more than 80,000 positions as it gears up for spring, its busiest selling season. the home-improvement retailer is adding staff in its stores and distribution facilities, as customers get ready to tackle lawns and other projects once the weather warms. Separately, the company said it is adding more than 5,500 associates in Canada, also to help with spring selling. Shares were not yet active in premarket trade, but have gained 10.7% in the last three months, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has gained 0.4%.
