Hewlett Packard Enterprise Shares Slide On Weaker-than-expected Earnings
Shares of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. fell in Wednesday's extended session after the enterprise technology company posted disappointing quarterly results. HPE reported its second-quarter earnings swung to a loss of $612 million, or 37 cents a share, from a profit of $320 million, or 18 cents a share, a year earlier. On an adjusted basis, HPE would have earned 25 cents a share. Revenue fell to $7.45 billion from $8.51 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had forecast earnings of 35 cents a share on revenue of $9.73 billion. HPE expects third-quarter adjusted earnings per share of 24 cents to 28 cents. For the full year, HPE projected EPS of $1.46 to $1.56. HPE shares slid 2.7% after hours.
