Gunman Killed After Shootings At Florida State University

A gunman was fatally shot at Florida State University by police who answered a call about an "armed subject" on the main campus in Tallahassee just after midnight, according to media reports. The gunman was confronted by officers, but refused to drop his weapon, firing one shot which triggered a number of shots from the police in response. Three students were found at the scene with gunshot wounds, with one in critical condition. The confrontation took place just outside Strozier Library, as many students hovered inside, many sending status updates of the situation on social media. An emergency alert had been sent out to students warning of a "dangerous situation" and advising that they seek shelter.
