GT Advanced Technologies disclosed Thursday that the Securities and Exchange Commission is probing certain trading activity in the company's securities. Regulators are also seeking additional information about its sapphire business and securities offerings dating back to January 2013. The company earlier this week said a bankruptcy court settlement with Apple Inc. would remain intact despite a judge's order that documents describing their relationship be made public. GT Advanced filed for bankruptcy protection on Oct. 6, shortly after Apple passed its Sapphire screens over for the new iPhone 6. Shares of GT Advanced fell 4% recently to 56 cents.
