Greece And Creditors Need To Resume Talks After Referendum: White House
Greece and its European creditors need to get back to the negotiating table to keep the troubled country in the eurozone, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday. "The task remains the same" even after the referendum, Earnest said. Both sides have indicated that they want to resolve the crisis in a way to keep Greece in the eurozone, "and the only way that will happen is to agree to a package of financing and reforms that will put Greece back on the path of economic growth and debt sustainability." The U.S. will continue to play a supporting role, but the Greece crisis remains "a European challenge to solve," Earnest said.
