Grand Jury Indicts South Carolina Police Officer In Shooting Death Of Walter Scott

A grand jury on Monday came back with an indictment against former South Carolina police officer Michael Slager for the April shooting death of Walter Scott. Slager, 33, was charged with murder and was subsequently fired from the police department after video of his encounter with Scott, 50, surfaced. Scott, who was killed, was believed to have been unarmed when Slager fired eight shots as Scott fled. If convicted, Slager faces 30 years to life in prison.
