Google Launches New Chromecasts With Support For Showtime, Sling TV And Spotify
Google Inc. announced two new Chromecast devices at a product event on Tuesday and said Chromecast will receive support for Showtime immediately, and Sling TV "within a few weeks." One of the new devices, called Chromecast Audio, features an audio plug-in that essentially turns regular speakers into wireless streaming devices that are capable of streaming audio, such as Play Music, directly through the Chromecast device. Both devices will also be compatible with Spotify, the popular music-streaming service that had not previously been compatible with Chromecast. Both devices will retail for $35. Google said it has sold 20 million Chromecasts since first launching the device two years ago.
