Gold futures settled lower for a third straight session on Thursday, ending the holiday-shortened week with a loss of 0.8% on expectations that Greece will eventually reach an agreement with creditors. August gold fell $5.80, or 0.5%, for the session to settle at $1,163.50 an ounce on Comex. That was the lowest settlement for a most-active contract since March 18.
