Gold futures closed lower on Friday, down 3.5% for the week and at their lowest settlement level since mid-January. Upbeat U.S. jobs data fueled a rally in the dollar, which in turn dulled gold's appeal. April gold fell $28.10, or 2.2%, to settle at $1,234.60 an ounce on Comex.
