Shares of some top gold companies are mixed at 10 a.m.:

Barrick Gold Corp. rose $.24 or 1.8 percent, to $13.54.

Gold Fields Ltd ADS fell $.01 or .2 percent, to $4.48.

GoldCorp rose $.24 or 1.2 percent, to $20.09.

Newmont Mining Corp. rose $.33 or 1.3 percent, to $26.68.
