Georgia revenues in July total $1.49 billion, a 5.5 percent increase over July 2013

A report shows Georgia's revenues totaled nearly $1.49 billion in July, an increase of 5.5 percent over the same month a year ago.

The office of Gov. Nathan Deal said Thursday that both individual and corporate income tax collections were up, along with gross sales tax collections.

It's a solid start to the fiscal year, which began July 1.

Deal's office says the overall net sales tax increased $25.5 million, or 5.9 percent compared to the same month last year. Meanwhile, corporate income tax collections increased nearly $12.5 million, or roughly 89 percent compared to July 2013.
