Former Pimco chief Bill Gross, who recently set up shop at Janus Capital, just received $500 million to manage on behalf of hedge-fund legend George Soros. In a news release Thursday, Janus said Quantum Partners LP, a private investment vehicle managed by Soros Fund Management, has invested $500 million in a separate account managed by Gross that will pursue a strategy similar to the Janus Global Unconstrained Bond Fund . "I & my team will manage your new unconstrained strategic acct. 24h/day. An honor to be chosen & an honor to be earned as well," Gross said in a tweet via Janus's Twitter account.
