General Motors Beats Fourth-quarter Expectations
General Motors shares rose 2.5% Wednesday after the company beat fourth-quarter earnings expectations. The company reported net income of $6.3 billion, or $3.92 per share, up from $1.1 billion, or $0.66 million per share, in the year-earlier period. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.39, above the FactSet consensus of $1.20. GM reported revenue of $39.6 billion compared with $39.6 billion in the year-earlier period, and above the FactSet consensus of $36.6 billion. The company reaffirmed its 2016 EPS guidance of $5.25 to $5.75.
