GE Shares Jump On Plans To Sell GE Capital Assets

Shares of General Electric Co. climbed nearly 3% in premarket trade Friday after the company said it plans to sell the bulk of its GE Capital financial business. The shares were up 2.8% to $26.44 in heavy volume ahead of the regular session. In addition to the financial-unit restructuring, the GE's board has approved a new $50 billion share-buyback program.
