Freddie Gray Death Ruled a Homicide

The death of Freddie Gray, who died after being arrested by Baltimore police officers, has been ruled a homicide. Criminal charges are expected to be filed against the six officers who took the 25-year-old Gray into custody on April 12. Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby said Friday that there is "probable cause" to file charges against the officers, following what she described as a "thorough investigation" and a medical examiner's report on Gray's death, according to a report by CNN.com. Gray's arrest also was determined to be illegal. Gray sustained a spinal-cord injury and died a day after his arrest. His death has led to protests in Baltimore, and in other cities across the U.S., over the relationship between law enforcement and young African-American men.
