Foundation of injured Olympian sues over 'Love Your Brain'
A nonprofit set up by injured professional snowboarder Kevin Pearce to support people who've suffered brain injuries is suing a Los Angeles-based group over the right to the phrase "Love Your Brain."
The federal lawsuit filed in Vermont says the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles has been using the term trademarked by the Love Your Brain Foundation.
The complaint says the Epilepsy Foundation is using the loveyourbrain.org domain, previously registered to Pearce's organization but inadvertently allowed to expire. It says the Los Angeles group has used the phrase in website postings, on physical signs and on a bus.
The Los Angeles group didn't immediately respond Thursday to a request for comment.
Pearce struck his head in 2009 during training for the Olympics and had to undergo extensive rehab.
