'Fifty Shades' Poised To Make $85 Million On Weekend
The controversial drama "Fifty Shades of Grey" is poised to make $85 million over the Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend, based on Friday theater bookings, the Hollywood Reporter said Friday. The film from Comcast Corp.'s Focus Features unit that chronicles a sexually sadomasochistic relationship would be the best showing for the President's Day period if the numbers hold true, the Reporter said. The film made $8.6 million in early Thursday night screenings and was on pace to turn in more than $26 million on Friday. The film is playing in 3,646 locations.
