Fifth Straight Record Close For S&P 500, Dow
U.S. stocks finished Tuesday's thinly-traded sideways session essentially flat. However, fractional gains sent the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average to record highs for the fifth session in a row. There were no economic releases, while bond market was closed for Veteran's Day. The S&P 500 reached an all-time high, adding 1.42 points, or 0.1%, to 2,039.68. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day essentially flat at 17,614.90. The Nasdaq Composite rose 8.94 points, or 0.2%, to 4,660.56.
