Facebook's Stock Is Now 10th Most Valuable In S&P 500, Passing J.P. Morgan Chase
Facebook Inc.'s stock ran up 2% to an all-time high in midday trade Friday, on track to extend its win streak to five sessions. The social network's stock has now gained 8.2% during its win streak, which also puts it on course for the biggest weekly percentage gain since it soared 9.9% during the week ending July 25. The company's market-capitalization has increased by $17.83 billion this week to reach $236.3 billion, according to FactSet. That makes Facebook, which has been publicly traded for less than three years, the 10th-most valuable company in the S&P 500 , moving above J.P. Morgan Chase at $231 billion. If Facebook were in the Dow Jones Industrial Average , it would be the seventh-most valuable.
