Facebook Picks Up Time Warner's Global Media Head
In a move that follows the two companies’ movie streaming partnership, Facebook has hired Time Warner’s (NYSE:TWX) president of global media, Mark D’Arcy, to head its global creative solutions.
In his new role starting in May, D’Arcy, 39, will be responsible for leading a team charged with creating new ideas for how companies can use Facebook in their marketing campaigns, according to The Wall Street Journal.
D’Arcy will be based in New York City reporting to Mike Hoefflinger, Facebook’s director of global customer marketing.
Facebook's Time Warner tap comes just days after the two companies announced a new partnership where Warner Bros. will stream movies on the social networking site. So far six movies have been released on Facebook as part of the deal.
