Everything Microsoft Corporation Announced at Its Latest Event -- In 2 Minutes

For a while now, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has been the dark horse in the hardware space, trailing behind rivalsas it fights to get the attention of users. But last year's debut of the Surface Pro 3 was a bit of a turning point for the company, as it started to find its stride in the tablet space.

If that's true, then Microsoft's hardware event earlier this week proved that the company has been training for a marathon race against its hardware competitors. Microsoft debuted two new high-end Lumia smartphones -- both sporting 20-megapixel cameras and Qualcomm Snapdragon processors -- and a redesigned Microsoft Band, with a new altimeter sensor, and Cortana improvements.

Microsoft also updated the Surface Pro with a better keyboard, faster processor, a slightly larger display, and a new pressure-sensing display technology. But the big news at the event was the release of Microsoft's new 13.5-inch Surface Book, which pairs the large tablet with a high-end keyboard that sports its own NVIDIA graphics processor.
