Eversource seeks electric rate decrease as prices fall; customers could see $6 monthly savings

Eversource Energy has asked New Hampshire regulators for a rate reduction of more than 75 percent beginning July 1.

If approved, a residential customer purchasing 500 kilowatt hours of electricity each month from Eversource will see a monthly bill reduction of more than six dollars, from about $97 to $91.

The company says the reduction in its energy service charge is mostly due to lower than anticipated wholesale market energy prices.

In its filing Thursday with the Public Utilities Commission, Eversource asked for a reduction in its energy service charge as well as slight decreases in other charges.
