Etsy Shares More Than Double In Their Trading Debut

Etsy Inc. shares more than doubled in their debut Thursday, opening at $30.97 and then heading up to $33.04, compared with their initial public offering price of $16 a share. The online marketplace for arts and crafts had priced the IPO at the high end of its range late Wednesday. Etsy sold 16.7 million shares to raise about $267 million, giving it a valuation of $1.8 billion. The stock is trading on the Nasdaq exchange under the symbol "ETSY".
