Engineering design firm Aecom buys Hunt Construction for undisclosed sum
Aecom Technology has acquired the Hunt Construction Group as the engineering design firm expands its construction services business.
Terms of the deal, announced Tuesday, were not disclosed.
Founded in 1944, Hunt is a privately held construction management firm that runs both public and private projects.
Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the company has major operations based in Indianapolis and was involved in the construction of Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Other recent projects include the Marlins Park in Miami, the home of Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins team, and a new terminal at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Hunt also managed the construction of facilities where Aecom provided design services, such as the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and the Proton Therapy Clinic at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.
The company booked $1.2 billion in revenue in 2013.
Shares of Aecom Technology Corp., based in Los Angeles, fell 4 cents to $34.81 in late morning trading.
