DreamWorks Swings To Loss On Restructuring Charges
DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $263.2 million, or $3.08 a share, swinging from a gain of $17.2 million, or 20 cents a share, for the same period a year ago. Revenue for the Glendale-based animation studio was $234.2 million against last year's $204.3 million. Much of the loss was due to the company's restructuring plan, announced Jan. 22. Excluding that, the company's loss was 75 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected adjusted earnings of 6 cents a share for the quarter and sales of $246.2 million. Shares ended trading Tuesday up 2.5% to $21.13.
