Dream On Me 2-in-1 Basset to Cradle product recalled over falling, suffocation risk

Dream On Me is recalling its 2-in-1 Bassinet to Cradle because it poses a falling and suffocation risk for infants, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The product is a bassinet with legs, metal frame supports, fabric sides, and a removable half-canopy on top. The bassinet can be removed from the frame.

The wire supports on the side of the bassinet can disconnect, causing the fabric sides to come down, the CPSC said. That creates the risk that the baby could fall out of the bassinet or get tangled up in the fabric and suffocate.

About 13,000 units are being recalled. No injuries have been reported, but Dream On Me received one report of the bracket falling and the fabric collapsing with an infant inside, the CPSC said.

The products were sold at websites including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, ToysRUs.com and Kohls.com between May 2012 and October 2014. They come in pink, blue, green and white, and retailed for about $60. They were made in China.

Consumers should contact Dream On Me for free repairs and should not use the product until it is fixed.
