Stocks however recovered and rallied into the close with technology and healthcare stocks leading gains. The S&P 500 closed 15.01 points, or 0.8%, higher at 1,938.68. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 117.93 points, or 0.7%, to 16,516.50. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite ended the day up 47.93 points, or 1%, at 4,685.92, snapping an eighth-day slump.
