Dow Closes At Record High 25th Time This Year

NEW YORK – U.S. stocks bounced off session lows on Thursday, as investors weighed upbeat earnings and deal news against concerns over falling oil prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at all-time high for the 25th time this year. Baker Hughes soared after news reports that it was in talks to be acquired by rival oil-field services company Halliburton . The S&P 500 gained a point to 2,039.33, while energy sector stocks weighed on the index. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 40.59 points, or 0.2%, to 17,654.79. The Nasdaq Composite closed 5 points, or 0.1%, higher at 4,680.14.
