Dollar Surges To 12-year High Against Euro On Strong Jobs Report
The dollar surged to a fresh 12-year high against the euro after the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the U.S. economy added 295,000 jobs in February, beating the consensus estimate of 238,000 from economists polled by MarketWatch. The euro fell to $1.0877, compared with $1.1030 late Thursday. The dollar rose to 120.80 yen, a four-month high. Meanwhile, the pound fell to $1.5132, its lowest level in a month.
