Disney Moves Up Earnings Because Of Goldberg Funeral

Walt Disney Co. said Monday that fiscal second-quarter earnings will come out earlier than previously scheduled because of the recent death of Dave Goldberg, the husband of Disney board member and Facebook operating chief Sheryl Sandberg. The media giant will now report earnings at 8 a.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, rather than after the closing bell. The conference call will begin at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. Disney said the change was to allow Sandberg and other executives to attend the funeral of Goldberg, who died suddenly on Friday.
