Derby Winner American Pharoah Sparks Triple Crown Hopes

Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah has now been installed as horse racing's next great hope for a Triple Crown, according to a Bleacher Report article and other news stories. The next race is the Preakness Stakes, scheduled for May 16, and it's been 37 years since a horse won the Triple Crown. On Saturday before a record crowd of 170,513, the Derby favorite made a come-from-behind move in the stretch to beat Firing Line by a length and give trainer Bob Baffert his long-awaited fourth Derby victory, the AP reported.
