Daniel Loeb's Third Point Boosts Stock Holdings, Adding New Stakes In Citigroup And Delta
Billionnaire investor Daniel Loeb's hedge fund Third Point LLC disclosed in a regulatory filing that it increased the value its equity holdings by 27% to $11.09 billion during the fourth quarter. The fund held 25 million shares of Citigroup as of Dec. 31, after owning no Citigroup shares on Sept. 30, according to the fund's 13F filings. Also during the fourth quarter, Third Point increased its stake in Alibaba to 10 million shares from 7.2 million shares, added a new 3.85-million-share position in Delta Air Lines , bumped up its holdings of Amgen to 10.68 million shares from 1.33 million shares, and more than doubled its stake in EBay to 10 million shares from 4.5 million shares. Meanwhile, the fund cut its share stakes in Ally Financial to 30 million from 41.92 million and in Dow Chemical to 22 million from 29.3 million.
