Crops in good shape across most of South Dakota despite week with little or no precipitation
Crop conditions in South Dakota were reported mostly good to excellent despite a week with little rainfall.
The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop report that topsoil moisture supplies were 82 percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture was rated 84 percent adequate to surplus.
Spring wheat, oats and corn were all rated at least 80 percent good to excellent. Barley was rated 65 percent good and 13 percent excellent.
Pasture and range conditions were reported to be 22 percent excellent, 55 percent good, 19 percent fair and 4 percent poor.
