Costco May Same-store Sales Flat Vs. Year-earlier

CostCo Wholesale Corp. said same-store sales were flat in May, as U.S. same-store sales rose 2%, while international same-store sales fell 4%. The reading matched the Thomson Reuters consensus. Net sales rose 2% to $8.98 billion in May from the year-earlier period, pushing sales for the 39 weeks ended May 31 to $85.31 billion, up 4% from a year ago, the company said. Shares were slightly lower in premarket trade but are up 0.3% in the year so far, while the S&P 500 has gained 2.7%.
