Consumer Sentiment Jumps In December To Nearly Eight-year High

Consumer sentiment jumped in December to mark the highest reading since January 2007, published reports said. The University of Michigan and Thomson Reuters consumer sentiment gauge rose to a preliminary reading of 93.8 from 88.8 in November. Economists polled by MarketWatch expected an 89.6 reading.
