Construction worker dies in 80-foot fall at Philadelphia building site near main train station

A construction worker has fallen 80 feet to his death at a Philadelphia building site near the city's main railroad station.

Police say the 42-year-old man fell at around 8:10 a.m. Friday in the city's University City section near 30th Street Station.

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead about a half hour later.

The head of the city's buildings department didn't immediately return messages.
