Construction Spending Rises 1.0% In October

Construction spending jumped a seasonally adjusted 1.0% in October, and was 13.0% higher for the year, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. Residential construction was 1.0% higher, while nonresidential construction rose 0.6%. Economists polled by MarketWatch had forecast a 0.6% overall gain.
