Comcast Calls Quits On Merger With Time Warner Cable

Comcast Corp. on Friday confirmed that it is terminating its merger agreement with Time Warner Cable Inc. and its transactions agreement with Charter Communications Inc. . In a brief statement, Comcast Chief Executive Brian Roberts said the company was moving on. "Of course, we would have liked to bring our great products to new cities, but we structured this deal so that if the government didn't agree, we could walk away,"he said. Comcast shares were up about 0.5% in premarket trade, while Time Warner Cable was down 0.5%.
