Coca-Cola names James Dinkins as head of North America unit

Coca-Cola says James Dinkins will take over as head of the company's North America business next year, replacing Sandy Douglas, who is retiring.

Atlanta-based Coca-Cola says 55-year-old Dinkins, who currently oversees the Minute Maid business, will start as president of Coca-Cola North America on Jan. 1. Douglas, who is 56, will retire three months later in March. Both men have worked at Coca-Cola for almost 30 years.

Coca-Cola Co.'s North America business is its biggest market, with revenue from the unit making up about a quarter of the company's total revenue last year. Coca-Cola has made other executive changes recently: In May, James Quincey became Coca-Cola's CEO.
