The Clorox Co. said Friday it had net income of $174 million, or $1.30 a share, in its fiscal third quarter, up from $137 million, or $1.04 a share, in the year-earlier period. Adjusted per-share earnings came to $1.08. The FactSet consensus was for EPS of $1.10. Sales rose to $1.40 billion from $1.37 billion, compared with the FactSet consensus of $1.38 billion. The consumer goods company said it now expects fiscal 2015 sales to grow 1% to 2% and EPS to range from $4.45 to $4.55, up from a prior range of $4.40 to $4.55. Shares were not yet active in premarket trade but are up 1.8% in the year so far, while the s&P 500 has gained 1.3%.
