Cisco Among Gainers As Tech Stocks Rise Early

Most leading tech stocks rose along with the broader market Thursday, with Cisco Systems Inc. among the advancers. Cisco shares rose 1% to $25.32 after the company reported mildly upbeat quarterly results late Wednesday. Gains also came from Apple Inc. , Amazon.com Inc. , Hewlett-Packard Co. and Microsoft Corp. . The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index rose 13 points to 4,689 and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index was also in positive territory.
