Charter Communications Swings To a Profit In The Third Quarter

Charter Communications Inc. said it had net income of $54 million, or 48 cents per share, in the third quarter, after a loss of $53 million, or 49 cents per share, for the same period last year. The FactSet consensus was for EPS of 3 cents. Revenue came to $2.45 billion, up from $2.29 billion the previous year and slightly below the FactSet consensus of $2.46 billion. Net customer additions for the quarter were 180,000 versus a FactSet consensus estimate of 137,000. Charter Communications shares are up 10.5% for the year so far, while the S&P is up 1.5%.
