Casino mogul Steve Wynn caught in middle of ex-wife, board's proxy fight

Elaine Wynn says she has her ex-husband Steve Wynn's endorsement in her battle to remain on the board of the casino-hotel company they co-founded after the company's directors voted not to re-nominate her.

Elaine Wynn on Thursday cited statements the Wynn Resorts Ltd. CEO made on Charlie Rose's interview show this week that he didn't agree with the board's decision.

A transcript of the show, though, shows Steve Wynn further explains the uncomfortable position of being caught in the middle. He tells Rose he has recused himself on the issue.

His spokesman, Michael Weaver, also says he has not endorsed her re-election.

At the same time, a third proxy advisory firm issued recommendations for how shareholders should vote at an April 24 meeting. The Egan-Jones Ratings Company is the first to endorse Elaine Wynn.
