Carl Icahn Ups Stake In Hertz And EBay, But Value Of Stock Holdings Declines

The value of Carl Icahn's equity holdings declined by 5.2% during the fourth quarter to $31.9 billion as of Dec. 31, according to a regulatory filing, even has he showed increases in his holding of Hertz Global Holdings and EBay Inc. . He held 51,922,405 shares of Hertz as of Dec. 31, up from 38,800,000 shares on Sept. 30, while his holding of EBay increased to 46,271,370 shares from 45,825,684 shares. Those stocks declined 1.8% and 0.9%, respectively, during the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, his holding of Apple Inc. remained at 52,760,848 shares and Herbalife stayed at 17,000,000 shares.
