Cablevision Launches Channel Dedicated To Hulu Streaming Service
Cablevision Systems Corp. and Hulu -- a joint venture of Walt Disney Co. , Comcast Corp. and 21st Century Fox Inc. -- are breaking new ground, launching a cable channel dedicated to the online streaming service. The channel will be accessible on the cable provider's set-top boxes and allow Hulu subscribers to login in to their account and access the service's library. The unparalleled move for the online streaming service to a cable provider's set-top box is powered by CloudTV StreamCast from ActiveVideo, which enables online video content to be delivered to a set-top box, according to a news release. Cablevision customers who aren't Hulu subscribers will have access to a free trial offer, before signing up for $7.99 per month.
